Florida Atlantic University Swimming & Diving had a Record Day After Day 3 of CCSA Championships
Atlanta, Ga.—Florida Atlantic University men’s swimming and diving had a record day on the third day of the CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships.
In the first final of the night for the men, freshman Marco Leo took 12th overall in the 400 IM “B” final with a lifetime best result of 4:01.00. Juniors Nick Landi and Tucker Lewis also competed in the 400 IM “C” final and finished 17th (4:05.90) and 20th (4:10.00), respectively.
Senior Hunter Swartsel swam in the 100 fly “B” final and finished ninth overall as he reorded a lifetime best of 49.45. Micahel Rahrig earned 13th place with a time of 50.31, as teammate Zachary Kitzis finished right behind him in 14th place recording a lifetime best (50.51). Malachi Oakes took 18th overall in the “C’ final also recording a lifetime best (50.63).
Senior Mattheiu Burtez was the Owls’ top finisher in the 200 free with an second place finish in 1:37.70. Burtez recorded a lifetime best with this final, as well as a claiming a school and conference record.
The freshman Connor Hodges also also recorded a lifetime best in the 200 free finishing 19th overall in 1:42.48. A pair of Owls tied for 20th overall in this event, freshman Shawn String and Cole Wisecarver with a time of 1:43.41. String recorded a lifetime best in this event.
