Florida State Women Ready for SMU Classic
The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team will be competing at the 2015 SMU Classic.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –Members of the Florida State women’s swimming and diving team will be competing at the 22nd annual 2015 SMU Classic in Lewisville, Texas which will be held on Friday and Saturday.
In addition to the host team of SMU and the Seminoles, Louisville, Missouri, TCU and UCLA will competing. This will be the first time FSU has participated in this meet since 2007.
“This early invite is one of the fastest and most prestigious in the country,” FSU head coach Frank Bradley said. “We want to set ourselves up to race among the best at NCAA’s and this meet will have plenty of NCAA caliber talent.”
The Seminoles opened the season by falling to Minnesota on Oct. 3, 212-88 at the Morcom Aquatics Center.
“Minnesota is a very good team,” Bradley said. “Every year, they’re a top 10 program. They run the Big Ten and they’re solid. I think we learned what we’re capable of in that dual meet and hopefully we can use that to propel us into this weekend.”
Friday’s events will be the 400 medley relay, 400 IM, 200 free, 50 free, 100 fly, 100 back, 100 breast, 800 free relay along with 1-meter diving. Saturday will contain the 200 medley relay, 500 free, 200 breast, 200 back, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 IM, 200 free relay and 3-meter diving.
Each session will start at 6:30 p.m. (CT) on Friday and Saturday.
“It should be a fast meet,” Bradley said. “I’m looking forward to it, I know our team is looking forward to it and we’re ready to go.”
