FSU Women, Dressel, Grisell Honored by CSCAA

The College Swimming Coaches Association of America recognized the FSU women’s swimming and diving squad as a Scholar All-America Team while Dylan Grisell and Kaitlyn Dressel earned individual honors.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. –  The Florida State women’s swimming and diving team was one of 600 men’s and women’s collegiate swimming and diving programs across all divisions that were recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as an All-America Team for the 2015 spring semester.

To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must achieve a GPA of 3.00 or higher over the semester.

“It’s excellent,” FSU head coach Frank Bradley said. “They have set the tone and standard for this program as we continue to grow both in and out of the pool.”

Earning individual recognition was Kaitlyn Dressel and Dylan Grisell. Both student-athletes were listed as Scholar All-America honorable mentions.

The award combines the overall work in both the pool and classroom.  Dressel and Grisell earned the nod by ways of competing at the NCAA Championships while holding above a 3.50 GPA for the year.

Both Dressel and Grisell were also named to the All-ACC Academic Team in 2015.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
