Seminoles Ready for US Nationals
Members of the Florida State swimming and diving team are ready to compete in the 2015 Phillips 66 National Championships in San Antonio, Texas.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Four current members of the Florida State swimming and diving team will be competing at the 2015 Phillips 66 National Championships that will run Aug. 6-10 at the Northside Swim Center in San Antonio, Texas.
“The swimmers we have going have the potential to do really well,” FSU head coach Frank Bradley said. “They’ve been training all summer and have shown some solid progress and I’m anxious to see how they do.”
Rising juniors Jason Coombs and Jason McCormick will represent Club Seminole, while sophomore Calvin Bryant and freshman Summer Finke will swim for St. Petersburg Aquatics.
In addition, former FSU swimmer Jared Pike will race the 100 breast, representing Club Seminole.
Prelims will begin at 9 a.m. (CT) with the top three heats of qualifiers advancing to finals, which begin at 6 p.m. (CT).
Also competing this weekend, is rising freshman Leila Johnston, who will represent Mount Desert Island YMCA at the 2015 YMCA Long Course National Championships. The meet is underway and will run until Aug. 7 at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
“We had swimmers representing well at both international and national meets,” Bradley said. “That’s very encouraging for our program and the direction we want it to go. Hopefully we have a successful week and continue to make progress.”
Summer Finke – 200m, 400m, 800m free, 400m IM
Calvin Bryant – 1500m free
Jason Coombs – 200m IM, 100m, 200m breast
Jared Pike – 100m breast
