Sunshine State Conference Gets Started in Orlando

The Sunshine State Conference Swimming and Diving Championships start today in Orlando. All nine of the Division II schools competing are located here in Florida.

For the men’s championship, Florida Southern is the defending SSC Champions. FSC totaled 800 points during the four days of action. The Moccassins edged out Nova Southeastern, who finished in second with 791 points. Finishing third in the Men’s standings was Tampa with 740 points.

For the women, the SSC Champion was Nova Southeastern, who tallied 853.5 points overall. Florida Southern finished in second place by recording 760.5 points. The third place finisher on the women’s side was Tampa with 712 points.

The swimmers of the meet for 2015 were Daniel Bis of Saint Leo, and Rebecca Matthews of Lynn, both of which are back for the 2016 championships.
